The Whaler Boy
The whaler boy, Wielorybnik or Kitoboy is a Russian film directed by Philipp Yuryev. Leshka,
15-year-old boy lives in an isolated village on the Bering Strait, located
between Chukotka and Alaska, which divides Russia from America. Like most of
the men in his village, he is a whale hunter who leads a very calm life at the
end of the world. With the recent arrival of the internet in the village of
Leshka, the predominantly male population now gathers every night to watch
gorgeous girls thousands of miles away dancing on an erotic webcam site. For
most guys, it's just a fun, but Leshka takes it all very seriously. The
appearance of an unusual girl on a webcam site fascinates him. He's determined
to learn her language and see her in real life even though she doesn't know
about his existence. This is how his dangerous journey begins...
